The first result of the CERV InterGenerational Digital Engagement (E-engAGEd) project has now been finalised and can be accessed from the project’s website.
From April to September 2023, the E-engAGEd consortium disseminated a 21-question questionnaire designed to determine what the project’s target audience – young adults aged 18-25 and adults aged 50 and over – understood about the notions and concepts of disinformation, digital citizenship, online civic and political engagement. In particular, the survey consisted of a questionnaire that assessed the following aspects: citizens’ understanding, personal experiences and suggestions regarding the aforementioned concepts, as well as their impact on the democratic system.
137 people responded to this questionnaire in France, Belgium, Italy and Greece. The similarities and differences between the two age groups: on the relationship to the media, the form of citizen engagement, the knowledge of the concept of disinformation were analysed and reported in the comparative report.
This report will serve as a basis for drawing up a policy proposal (WP2) and determining the topics for the organisation of thematic events (WP5) that are most relevant to citizens’ concerns.
