The E-Engaged intergenerational project achieved its third objective with the training of young adults, which took place on 18 June with a class of future educators from the ITS Pierre Bourdieu in Pau, south-west France. In an ever-changing digital world, the session on media literacy provided essential knowledge and skills for tomorrow’s professionals.
Topics such as digital citizenship, fake news and AI, algorithms and political polarisation were debated, as were general questions and advice on the safe use of social media. Students analysed these topics collaboratively through group activities, which encouraged critical thinking and a constructive exchange of ideas.
In the next phase of the project, the French association E-seniors will be setting up a media literacy workshop for older people. This workshop will be co-facilitated by young adults, with the aim of strengthening social ties and encouraging reciprocal learning.
